PROGRES IN ACTION
The ultimate in stupidity, "Immigrant Workers" and "Palestinian People", new streets to Sevilla
The Municipal de Sevilla has approved the name change several streets in the implementation of the Law of Historical Memory, from which two of the Northern Range, the avenues Pedro Gual Villalbí and Sancho Davila, who are now called Immigrant Workers and the Palestinian people, respectively.
In the same plenary session agreed that the street is bounded between Torres and bath Farfán Salcedo, in the District Bellavista-La Palmera, is renamed as The Compass, and the pathway that begins in the street The Working Women and ends in Alejandro Sawa, in the Northern District, is now designated caring family.
ALICANTE: Review a list of 93 streets to see which names are actually Franco
review of street names have started with the work of the cultural association Alicante Vivo, the first provisional list part of 93 tracks divided into three groups: the obvious connotations of the Franco era, doubt, and those who have lost this meaning. Now, the local debate is open to change or maintain the plates.
Among cases hedges are affected, the district of José Antonio (which they propose to rename a district Miguel Hernández), Plaza de la Division Azul (Victims of Terrorism), and General Millán Astray (open to suggestions).
'Thorny' debate
Other posters seem to be left as they are, like Germany, Italy and the Catholic Kings, and that although set in a context of clear intention of glorifying allies and values the regime, have now lost those shades of meaning.
And in the third group are the dodgy streets, where more necessary neighborhood consensus.
